Kashmir 2019
"I have never seen a single day in Kashmir that looked like a normal day since I am born". I was born in 1990s and this was the time in Kashmir when the insurgency started thought the conflict is quite old.
India abrogated special status of Jammu and Kashmir on 5th August 2019 its only Muslim dominated State and since then people of now called as Union territory are under curfew with no access to any means of communication, media or Internet.
People are unable to communicate with their relatives living far from them or other parts of the world.
Though Government has been claiming that most of the communication barricade is being lifted but the reality is quite different.

Kashmir valley is part of the Jammu and Kashmir territory which has maximum restrictions, there is curfew in place with article 144 imposed and AFSFA being used as a shield by the forces to get rid of the protesters.
Several people who came back from Kashmir during this time reported the ground reality and told the several news agencies that situation among the people is not so good, "People are shocked and angry" said many of them. Its been reported that more than 4000 people have been detained and arrested so far including the school kids and political leaders.
"Kashmir has been turned into complete prison where there is no place left for us not even to mourn for those who are killed" said a student who came recently from Kashmir.
Two former chief ministers are among those arrested and there is no way a local resident can express its views about the decision that government has taken for them.
When it comes to Kashmir, Government and people from rest of India claim that its their integral part and internal matter in spite of all the atrocities and human rights violations by the forces, most of them proved by the human rights organisations like Amnesty international.
What has been happening in Kashmir and the current situation is being showcased in two different aspects. One is of those news agencies funded and backed by government who claim that whatever has been decided by the government is good for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and therefore normalization has begun, but there is a different aspect quite opposite to this by the free media agencies.
Several media groups and social activist groups like Quint, the Print, the Wire and Press trust of India has been able to reveal the situation on ground despite the restrictions and limited access to Internet.
These groups have recently been able to report from Srinagar and some adjoining areas, they spoke to people and made them express how they really felt about the decision by government.
Most of the people they spoke to were not willing to disclose their identities because of the threat which shows how much of trust they have left in Indian administration and media.
People talked about the autonomy and their basic rights violations stating that " they have lost the faith on Democracy and this bridge between India and Kashmir is been widened more and more".
Reality VS what is being said in Indian Media.
"People of Kashmir have seen worse but they survived and this shall pass too" said a local resident while speaking to a reporter from the Wire.
Kashmir is a disputed part and neither India nor Pakistan can claim it unless People of Kashmir are not given a chance to decide their fate by the process of Referendum as per United Nations Security Council Resolution 47 .
There has been hundreds of thousands of killings, people have been murdered, raped, disappeared just because they asked what was right for them, they asked what has been promised to them.
People of Kashmir have become fearless and they can't be enslaved for ever, they have been fighting for life and all the time they met with death.
This is the time when People of Kashmir should be being given the right to choose what they want and how they live their life going forward.
There is no living with the killing and revenge will always followed by a revenge therefore its better for us to understand that guns can't bring peace.
The Kashmir crisis in numbers
Better to die fighting for freedom then be a prisoner all the days of your life. ~ Bob Marley
